Honourary Chair
I am pleased to support the 62nd Annual IPAC Conference being held in Ottawa. The complexity of many public policy issues today requires a robust, honest and focused exchange to drive to creative and comprehensive approaches.
The 2010 Conference theme, “Guardians of our Communities: From local to Global” is a timely invitation to discuss the importance of continuously exploring new ways to organize, collaborate, and strengthen our communities.
Our conversations will help us to better understand how we define communities when they are no longer simply geographic or cultural, but also increasingly dynamic and based on rights or interests. Our exchanges will also allow us to build a better understanding of who are the guardians, and define the roles of the public, non-profit and private sectors.
I am honored to invite you to join with me – and hundreds of people across the country and the globe – as we explore these interesting issues together. I wish to thank the organizers and volunteers with IPAC for making this important event possible.
